5G is the fifth generation of cellular network technology. It promises to bring much faster download and upload speeds, lower latency, wider coverage, and improved capacity than its predecessors (3G and 4G). 5G also has the potential to offer a wide range of new applications, such as connected cars, smart cities, and remote healthcare.
5G technology will allow new technologies, such as the Metaverse and the Internet of Things (IoT), to become more widely available. 5G will also improve how people interact with their devices, providing a seamless experience across different networks and platforms. Using higher frequencies than currently used in 4G networks, 5G can transfer data faster and more reliably. This means that users can expect a much faster and more reliable connection, even in areas with high traffic levels.
For enterprise companies, 5G will provide better solutions for data sharing and storage. 5G networks are more secure than previous generations, making them ideal for companies that need to store large amounts of data securely. Its lower latency also makes it perfect for real-time applications such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
Below is a graphic that shows the impact and connectivity of the 5G infrastructure.
The conversation about 5G has grown exponentially over the past three years. There’s already a conversation today about 6G, but more to come on that. Many influencers below drive the conversation forward through long-form editorial content, video interviews, analyst reports, and general social media content.
How were the 5G influencers Ranked?
It’s not just a Google search. We have a proprietary methodology that considers (4) different social media data points that we use to identify influencers and then measure their influence:
- Reach: Collectively, how big is their social media following across all channels?
- Relevance: I also call this topical relevance. What’s the volume of conversation about the topic?
- Resonance: When content is published about the topic, is it resonating with their audiences?
- Reference: Are they being referenced by other influential audiences, i.e., the media, other influencers, and audiences?
