Social Media in the Enterprise: Podcast

Had a great conversation with John Munsell, CEO of Bizzuka on Friday as a guest on the User Friendly Thinking Podcast. Hat tip to Paul Chaney for the invite. Enjoy.

Twitterville Book Signing Party with Shel Israel (#tBash)

Almost done reading Trust Agents (AWESOME READ SO FAR) even though I don’t have a signed copy from Mr. Chris Brogan quite yet. Three more chapters to go and then I’m diving right into Twitterville. I usually read books like I did in college and bounce around chapters, focusing on the ones where there is immediate need for personal/professional growth. As I browse through the table of contents, I can see that I will probably start reading Chapter 9 – B2Bs Are People Too – since I have never really worked in the B2B space.

Your Brand, Their World: Razorfish hosted panel discussion

Once again, I had a fantastic time at tonight’s panel hosted by Razorfish. The panelists included myself, Jon Swartz – USA Today (Moderator), Megan O’Connor, Director of Digital Marketing at Levi’s, Sam Faillace – Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Shutterfly and Marissa Gallagher – Vice President, User Experience at Razorfish.
Garrick Schmitt kicked off the discussion and emphasized that we were all there to learn how social media has impacted the way companies can interact with people. He even showed a funny illustration by Hugh Macleod – “You’re a Social Media Specialist? WOW, I am a Social Media Specialist too”. I think Garrick’s point was that social media is still new and we are all on this quest to try and figure it out.

SxSW Panel Opportunities for Big Brands

There is very little brand representation at many industry leading conferences, including SxSW. I want to change that, a little. I submitted two ideas for panels at the conference.

Twitter for Business: Lessons From the Enterprise

I am going to need a moderator and a few more panelists. Let me know if you are interested and please vote if you can.  Thanks.

Next Tweetup: A call for sponsors

Greetings from Hawaii! My wife (@kbritopian) and I are celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary on the beautiful island of Maui. We have been here since August 1st and we are flying to Arizona to pick up the little ones later this evening and then back home to Santa Clara on Monday.
I am running a little behind with the planning of the next Tweetup; so I am sipping on my 2nd Iced Venti Americano w/extra ice and plugging away on things that need to get done. First order of business – sponsors.
