A resource for all things CES (Consumer Electronics Show)

One project that I have been working over the last few months is the creation of an aggregation hub that pulls in content from across the web relevant to the upcoming 2009 CES show.

A brief background on the genesis of this project. A few months back, the event marketing team suggested a plan to create a social network for CES enthusiasts, participants, attendees, exhibitors; and those who just love to talk about technology.  I pushed back. I didn’t think it was smart to require users to create yet again … another profile, upload another avatar, write another bio, build their friends’ list, etc.  Instead, I thought a smarter approach would be to leverage the tools that people already use in an effort to build community and aggregate user-generated content.

Welcome the Consumer Electronics Insider.

This site is all about aggregation. We are pulling in blog posts that have historically mentioned CES in the past and that are technology leaders in the space (i.e. Engadget, Cnet, PC World, and Crunchgear to name a few); and we are also pulling in content from the Intel Insiders (Cathy Brooks, Justine Ezarik, Tom Forenski, Frank Gruber, J.D. Lasica, Sarah Meyers, Brian Solis and Irina Slutsky).

Twitter is completely open. We are pulling in all tweets that include the #CES2009 hash tag as well as any tweets that includes “CES”, “CES09”, “CES 2009”, or “Consumer Electronics Show.  Same thing with Youtube and Flickr, but using the following tags (CES, CES09 or CES2009).

Please bookmark, or if you blog frequently about CES and want your content included, please let me know.
