Michael writes: "A study back in June showed that 55% of consumers want ongoing conversations with companies and brands. The study investigated how brands and consumers interact and how consumers want brands to engage with them. "

Hmm, does that mean a blog author ought to respond to some, but not all of the comments, in his or her post? Or is silence equally engaging?

Many consumers value a company's corporate connections on Facebook and Twitter, but let's face it-these are still primarily and purely social connections. A company blog? That's almost a corporate necessity for today's well informed! This should be considered an absolute necessity for companies who don't want to fall behind in today's competitive industry.

Companies will likely be more willing to engage in Social Media when they recognize that all their "head in the sand" fear of transparency" and the resulting possibility of negative comments is self-regulated.

It seems to me that each Social Media community will squelch the bogus complaints leaving the legitimate ones. And in the end the legitimate complaints and frustrations have the most powerful call to action.

Answer that call and you begin to build loyalty!

I definitely think that social media will help brands and consumer, brands can survey an idea from the consumers in order to keep their consumers satisfied on their products. consumer can also share their views and complaints.

Social media is sometimes a difficult concept for many to wrap thier head around. The idea of venturing into the unknown sometimes scares companies to the point where they would rather not even try it with the fright of failing andwasting money. Social media is on the nose end of it's life cycle and it will only grow from here.

I've been researching social media and found that interaction is extremely important. Now I am not a social marketing expert, in fact, I am a mere novice. However, I am willing to take the necessary steps to learn from mentors like yourself. That is why I read blogs and take time to thank people for quality information like you provide. I also take time to interact with my readers. Great job. I will be back for more.

There is no way these Fortune 500 companies will maintain their status if they don't keep up with new effective marketing trends like social media.

The only way these Fortune 500 companies will maintain their status is by evolving with marketing trends. I'm sure more will catch up to the most effective marketing media like social media.
