Event: Learn how Big Companies use Social Media

BlogWell - How Big Companies Use Social Media - San Jose, CA - October 28thOn October 28 at the San Jose Convention Center, the Blog Council is hosting a new event called BlogWell. It is a panel of enterprise marketers and professionals that will discuss social media.

I anticipate that it will be a great discussion as they will be sharing case studies, best practices, and other insights into corporate blogging and social media. These are people who not just theoretically talk about social media; but also execute and are held accountable for the results. My good friend and colleauge, Ken Kaplan from Intel will be presenting.

Scheduled to present are senior executives and managers from:

  • Cisco Systems
  • Intel
  • Wells Fargo
  • Walmart
  • UPS
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Graco
  • The Home Depot

Topics up for discussion include disclosure, measuring ROI, managing teams, legal issues, BtoB, working with agencies and creating great content.

This is going to be an amazing half-day, and it’s only $200 to attend.  We hope to see you there!

If you want to attend and do something good for charity in the process, you can bid on a few conference passes they’ve put up on eBay.  100% of the proceeds (every penny!) is going to some very well-deserving causes.

Sounds like a cool event. It would be interesting to hear these large corporations perspectives on social media because what you mostly hear is how small – medium sized businesses are engaging this stuff. As a small business owner myself http://tastynectar.com/blog I would be interested to hear how they are measuring their ROI from social media.

@Brett It’s pretty hard to measure ROI from social media these days but either way, it’d be great to see a video on this event for those of us who are unable to make it. Would love to hear how other businesses using social media to their advantage.

Social media sites provide a great opportunity for marketers – you just need to know how. One of the reasons I love social media sites is because of the platform they provide for spreading viral content and applications. I blogged about it here http://www.maxentin.ca/2008/09/promoting-your-website-through-viral-marketing/
