New Blog Design: Tell me what you think!

The new blog is launched! Please tell me what you think and be honest. I actually designed the look and feel myself in Photoshop; and then hired the guys over at Unique Blog Designs to program it and build in the functionality. We ran into some problems with the latest version of Wordpress not being compatible with the version of MySQL database on my host; and we were locked out of the control panel for a few days because the license expired on Plesk (I hate Plesk by the way). Customer support was horrible; well…a good friend of mine was hosting the site for free so I should be nice (even though he was so darn non-responsive for like two days). Nonetheless, we moved hosts and everything seems to be working properly.

So please take a moment and click around the blog and tell me what you think. Do you like it? Hate it? Envy it? And, please be specific; if something doesn’t work, please tell me. So far I tested it in IE.6, IE.7 and Firefox. And, if you like what I have to say, you can always subscribe to my RSS feed and receive all future posts delivered straight to your inbox.

Now that I am up and running … let the posts begin!

  • I like the new layout and design, but I think you can maybe play around with the masthead alittle bit. The layout and colors are terrific! Nice job.
  • Nice and fresh!

    I like the design! Personally, if I wanna change my blog's design I just use my bloghost's (www.i.ph) very easy to use drag-and-drop interface. But a professionally-designed theme is awesome though.

    Thanks for comment. Long time no talk! I was actually fired from Yahoo! because I wasn't smart enough to figure out the math without a calculator. Thanks for your feedback! Lunch soon?

    @Stephanie

    Thank you for coming by! I do appreciate it!

    @Brick Marketing

    Thank you as well! I appreciate the valuable feedback you have provided on this post and others.

    Hi there,
    Of course I'm envious! I either don't have the time or I'm too lazy to start something like this. So with the 'little about me out of the way", let me say that I like the center column, but I find the right column too busy. I'm one of those people that doesn't like to scroll much and get overwhelmed by way too busy sites. But again, I didn't click around on the bottom stuff, so I don't know how useful others find this info.
    But the more important question is why am I not in the list of very smart people? Unacceptable!
    Hope you're enjoying your new job. Do they make you take math quizes?
  • lol. yeah. I will make it a little easier. I had to get a calculator out a few times already!

    ; )
  • I love the new look! Very spiffy!

    the math... i'm not a fan of though! ;-)
  • We like it! It's very nice and clean and well organized. It's not too cluttered at all and we like the simplistic design...the colors are calm as well. Good job!

    Looks quite nice. And I mean that, wouldn't say it otherwise. Well laid out/structured, nice graphics/design.

    Also, FYI, I am in Safari (2.0.4, not my usual browser, I'm normally FF, but I was testing something.)
  • Niiiiiice. Everything seems to be working just fine. Great job!
