Social Media in Politics: Fred Thompson and team embrace Social Media
Jul 3, 2007 Michael BritoIf you have ever watched Law & Order, then you know who Fred Thompson is. He is also running for the GOP Presidential Nomination. Thompson and team are the first Republicans that have fully embraced the concept of social media. Let’s see, he has a Myspace and Facebook profile with about 2,500 friends each; and he’s on Twitter with 400 or so friends. He has a fairly new Youtube channel with 500 or so subscribers and 15,000 views; and his blog is completely optimized to ensure that his content travels; one characteristic of social media optimization. Lastly, he has an embeddable widget that allows for contributions to his campaign which is a great viral marketing strategy.
And, here is something really cool. It’s not his staff that is blogging, it’s actually Fred. And, it seems that his transparency (a characteristic of social media) on issues is helping him shoot up in national polls in the Republican presidential field. Good luck Fred!

The man is intelligent enough not to want the job while at the same time demonstrates, both in word and deed, the metal and character to successfully perform the duties expected at the appropriate levels of morality and loyalty to we, the people.
No one I can think of has offered these indispensable qualities for a very long time.

He Voted to allow firms to lay off Americans to make room for foreign workers in 1998!!!
He Voted to kill programs that were intended to assist employers in verifying whether people they had just hired had the legal right to work in this country!!!!!
Sen. Thompson, in committee consideration of S.1664 protected businesses from having to pay higher fines when they are caught hiring illegal aliens!!!!
Voted to grant legal status to Nicaraguans and Cubans who had lived in the United States illegally since 1995, along with their spouses and minor unmarried children. The overall ten year impact of this legislation will be the addition of some 967,000 people to U.S!!!

Fred refuses to officially announce so he doesn’t have to debate his opponents or participate in the process he is quick to criticize.
Fred refuses to field questions from reporters or even his own supporters.
Karl Rove, who is the mastermind behind the amnesty bill, is the one pulling strings and stiff arming people into showing support for Fred.
Matlin/Carville sent Thompson to Israel and London this month to pad his resume and make it appear Fred has foreign affairs experience, when in reality, he doesn't.
Fred was for abortion before he was against it depending on who is standing in front of him at the time.
Fred was for McCain/Feingold before he was against it.
Fred, after working hand in hand lobbying with Harold Fickes, a Bill Clinton insider, Fred voted NO to impeach Clinton.
Fred is a globalist.
Fred is a lobbyist.
Fred has never held a leadership role.
Fred is a dirty ol man with a fetish for young girls.
Fred has cancer, is in remission, and could die before the end of one term.
